For Shogo to post your daily sales into Sage Intacct, it needs secure access to your Intacct company. You’ll set up a dedicated Web Services user. This is a behind-the-scenes account that lets Shogo send data to Intacct but can’t be used to log in to Intacct directly.
Setup takes about 15 minutes and has five parts:
- Find your Company ID
- Create a Web Services user role
- Create the Web Services user
- Register Shogo’s Sender ID
- Enter your Intacct credentials in Shogo
Before you start:
- You’ll need administrator access to Sage Intacct.
- Set up Shogo as a vendor in Intacct, with a contact attached. Intacct requires every Web Services user to be linked to a contact on a vendor, customer or employee record, so you’ll need this in Part 3.
Part 1: Find your Company ID
In Sage Intacct, go to Company → Setup → Company.
Write down your Company ID; you’ll enter it in Shogo at the end.
You’ll also be asked for a Company Name in Shogo. This can be anything you like. If you have more than one Intacct company, include whether this is your Sandbox or Production company so it’s easy to tell them apart.
Part 2: Create a Web Services user role
The role controls what Shogo is allowed to access in Intacct.
- Go to Company → Admin → Roles.
- Click Add at the top right.
- Enter these values and click Save: Name: Shogo WS Role; Description: Permissions for Shogo Web Services.
- In the Roles list, click Edit next to Shogo WS Role, then click View Subscriptions.
- For every permission set except Administration, choose All and click Save.
Part 3: Create the Web Services user
- Go to Company → Admin → Web Services users.
- Click Add at the top right.
- On the User information tab, enter the following and click Save:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| User ID | shogo |
| Username | Shogo WS |
| Account email address | Your email address (Intacct sends the password here) |
| Status | Active |
| Contact name | The Shogo vendor contact you created before you started |
| User type | Business |
| Admin privileges | Off |
- In the Web Services users list, click Edit next to the shogo user.
- On the Roles information tab, select Shogo WS Role and click Save.
Part 4: Register Shogo’s Sender ID
This tells Intacct to accept connections from Shogo.
- Go to Company → Setup → Company.
- Click Edit, then open the Security tab.
- Scroll down to Web Services authorizations and click Add.
- Enter the following and click Save: Sender ID: ShogoMPP; Description: Shogo; Status: Active.
Part 5: Enter your Intacct credentials in Shogo
Sage Intacct emails the Web Services user’s password to the email address you entered in Part 3. Once you have it, open the Connect to Sage Intacct screen in Shogo and fill in these fields:
- Company Name: the name you chose in Part 1
- Company ID: from Part 1
- Username: shogo
- Password: from the Intacct email
Click Save. Shogo will connect to your Intacct company.
Having trouble connecting?
- Make sure Web Services is turned on. In Intacct, go to Company → Subscriptions, open the Applications tab and scroll to the bottom to confirm Web Services is enabled.
- Check the password for restricted characters. Shogo can’t connect with a password containing an asterisk ( * ) or an ampersand ( & ). If yours has either, reset the Web Services user’s password in Intacct and try again.
- Check the Sender ID. It must be exactly ShogoMPP and set to Active.
- Check the role. Make sure the shogo user has Shogo WS Role assigned and that the role’s permissions saved.
Still stuck? Submit a request to Shogo Support and we’ll help you get connected.
