The Shogo Web Services Role is locked for editing by default after installing the Shogo SuiteApp. Some NetSuite custom segments (particularly the R&H segments) are also locked by default which means that Shogo may not have have permissions/visibility into those segments or their values. The result is that a Shogo User is unable to see or map the NetSuite segments/values in the Shogo accounting setup screens.
To get around this issue, follow these steps:
Duplicate the Shogo WS Role
It is not possible to unlock the Shogo WS Role but you can make a copy of it which you will then be able to edit.
- In NetSuite, navigate to Setup>Users/Roles>Manage Roles
-
Fine the locked Shogo Web Services Role and click "Customize"
-
Since the role is locked, clicking the Customize button will create an editable copy of the Shogo WS Role. By default the new role should be named "Custom Shogo Web Services Role".
Add Custom Records to the Custom Shogo WS Role
-
On the Custom Role Setup Screen, scroll down to the bottom section and click on Permissions > Custom Record
- Add any custom records here that you want Shogo to have access to.
-
Once complete, you will need to generate a new access token that utilizes the Custom Shogo Web Services Role, and then reconnect Shogo to NetSuite. You will not lose any setup/mapping as a result of doing this.
Create a new Access Token
- Click on Setup -> Users/Roles -> Access Tokens > [New]
- Under [Application Name] choose Shogo.
- Under [User], choose a user that has been associated with the Shogo WS Role.
- Under [ROLE], choose Custom Shogo Web Services Role
- The Token Name should generate automatically
- Click [SAVE]. A Token ID and Token Secret will be displayed only once. Make a note of them.
Reconnect Shogo to NetSuite
If you are reconnecting Shogo to NetSuite, you can get to the Shogo Reconnect Screen as follows:
- Navigate to Setup>Companies>
- Click on the Company Name which is a URL
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the "Edit" button
- Enter the updated credential information and click "Connect"
Refresh your NetSuite Reference Data
Please note it can take up to 24 hours for these NS permissions changes to become available to Shogo. If you've followed these steps and you still can't see the segments and values, please wait 24 hours and try once more prior to escalating further.
