Auto-Payout of Tips can be used if you are paying out credit card tips at the end of the day in cash.  Turning this on will create an accounting line item in the opposite direction of your Credit Card tips accounting line - and the two are, typically, mapped to the same account and net to zero in that account on a daily basis.

The Auto-Payout will also reduce the amount of the theoretical cash deposit by the amount of the calculated payout.

With Auto-Payouts turned on, your cash deposit will be calculated as:

Cash Sales - POS reported Payouts - AutoPayouts + Payins +/- Over/(Short)=Cash Deposit

If the above calculation results in a negative number, your Cash Drawer mapping will be used for posting the negative amount rather than your Cash payment mapping.
