Toast has a new accounting option to handle order-ahead/pre-paid orders in Toast POS. These two actions are merged in Shogo under "Payment Exceptions." For example paying for an order on Monday and picking up on Wednesday.
1). Prepay: A Prepay represents the amount of money you collected from the customer but for which there is no actual sale (yet). This is the accounting line only. The actual monies are applied to the tender that was used ie Cash or Credit.
2). Payment Exception: represents the accounting recognition of the sale for which you were paid on an earlier date. The actual sale is recognized and applied to the appropriate sale categories.
Please note that if you are using this feature in Toast, you will need to update your accounting mapping in Shogo accordingly.
To update your mapping, please go to app.shogo.io
