Shogo typically integrates with partners via API. When APIs are not available, Shogo may utilize a "File Interface" tool that can be configured to process a machine readable report, exported from your POS/Source System.
POS Requirements to use Shogo File Interface
File Type
Most machine readable file types are accepted such as csv, json, xml, txt. PDF is not accepted.
Creation
The POS should have features available for automatically scheduling reports to run and create transferable file(s). The POS will need to be configured to automatically create reports for each "store/location", for each sales date. If this isn't possible, then an automated integration is not possible via Shogo File Interface.
Transmission
The report files will next be automatically retrieved or received by Shogo via SFTP.
Naming
The daily report files must conform to the following naming convention:
<unique_store_id>_YYYYMMDD.csv
Data Contents/Detail
The report data should include all necessary information to create a corresponding accounting entry as required by the business.
Monitoring
Shogo will monitor the SFTP folders each hour for new files/activity.
Security
Shogo will send SFTP credentials via a one time link after you sign up for an account and submit an example report and corresponding JE.
POS Data Mapping
Because Shogo won't have a preconfigured "Data Dictionary" for your POS, there will be an additional mapping step required to map your POS Data. An example would be the need to map "Sales-Food" to the Shogo POS Category: "Sales". See more on POS Data Mapping.
